Who we are?
Head Injury Support was formed in 2015 after a number of individuals who shared similar experiences came together to form a support group for survivors of brain injury, their family members and their carers.
Our Purpose:
Our common aim is to enhance the quality of life of brain injury survivors, their family members and carers.
We embrace every individual, his/her attributes, qualities and skills. We recognise that no two people are the same and that everyone's journey is specific to them. The brain injury survivor is at the centre of all we do.
We focus on a positive future for everyone. Sometimes our challenges can overwhelm us and from time to time we can lose hope for a better future but with our practical and emotional support, a brighter future is attainable.
We promote learning opportunities to enable our members to achieve their maximum potential and develop the skills they need to live a meaningful, engaging life within their own families and communities.
At Head Injury Support Newry we understand the loss that has occurred and the grieving process that follows. However we believe that there are valuable learning opportunities available every day to promote and develop new skills and this is what gives us hope for the future. In doing so, we celebrate every achievement no matter how great or small.
